Volunteer Opportunities
As a member of the Friends of Hart Mountain you can get involved in the Refuge in a number of ways. Whether you are a visitor, a first timer, or a local resident there are opportunities here for you. Examples of ways to be involved include:
- Participate in periodic work parties to make habitat improvements
- Work with the Refuge Biologist to research wildlife and plants
- Facilities mainenance ( paint, clean, repair, odd jobs)
- Build fence
- Write grants
- Lead field trips
- Staff the visitor center
- Office work
- Raise funds
- Recruit members for the "Friends" group
- Collect oral histories of the Warner Valley
- Develop linkages to other organization
- Campground host at Hot Springs Campground
The possibilities for involvement are broad and will change as the Friends of Hart Mountain develops its agenda. Your involvement can be on an ongoing basis, or for a one time project.
